Arbors · San Antonio & Surrounding Texas

Hand-built arbors that turn a doorway into a moment.

Cedar, steel, and wrought-iron arbors built to anchor garden entries, frame walkways, and give climbing roses something worth climbing.

What we build

Custom Arbors built for South Texas living.

An arbor is a small structure with a big job: it marks a threshold. A gate to the backyard. The entrance to a vegetable garden. The arch over a wedding aisle. Done right, it makes the whole yard feel composed and intentional. Done wrong, it leans, warps, and falls over in the first big windstorm.

We hand-build every arbor from kiln-dried Western red cedar, welded steel, or wrought iron — sized to the opening, anchored in concrete footings, and detailed to match the architecture of your home. No big-box kits, no flat-pack delivery.

Want roses, jasmine, or wisteria climbing it? We can integrate a lattice trellis panel built to take the weight of mature vines without sagging. Want a wedding-ready arbor for the back garden? We'll match the proportions and tone you're after.

Options

Arbor styles we build.

Pick a style that matches your home and how much weight the structure needs to carry.

  • Classic cedar arch arbor

A traditional curved cedar arch with optional side benches. The most timeless look — works as well in front of a vegetable garden as over a wedding aisle.

  • Craftsman square-top arbor

Heavier cedar posts and a flat-rafter top with tongue-and-groove cuts. Pairs cleanly with Craftsman, ranch, and modern farmhouse architecture.

  • Steel garden arbor

Welded steel in matte black, bronze, or custom powder-coat. Slimmer profile than wood, holds up to mature climbing roses and wisteria without warping.

  • Arbor with built-in gate

A full entry assembly — arbor structure plus matching cedar or steel gate with self-closing hinges and a code-compliant latch.

  • Walkway arbor tunnels

A run of connected arbors forming a vine-covered tunnel down a side yard or vegetable garden path. Engineered as a continuous structure, not a row of separates.

  • Wrought-iron decorative arbor

Hand-forged wrought iron in scroll, vineyard, or simple-arch patterns. Adds Old World character around stone patios and Spanish-style homes.

Why Timeless Sunsets

A real arbor should outlast the vines on it.

  • Posts set in deep concrete footings — not staked into mulch, not sitting in a stone planter.
  • Kiln-dried, finger-jointed cedar that resists warping in our humidity swings.
  • Welded steel arbors built in-house and powder-coated for a 20+ year finish life.
  • Lattice panels built strong enough to support mature wisteria, climbing roses, and grape vines.
  • Hardware is stainless or hot-dipped galvanized — no rust streaks down the wood after the first rainy season.
  • Workmanship warranty in writing on every arbor we install.

FAQ

Questions about arbors?

  • How long does it take to build and install an arbor?
Most freestanding arbors are designed, built, and installed within 1-2 weeks once we have the deposit. We pre-build off-site in our shop, then dig footings and set the structure in a single day.
  • Do I need a permit for a garden arbor?
In most San Antonio jurisdictions, a freestanding arbor under a certain height with no roof element doesn't require a city permit. HOA approval is often required, especially for front-yard arbors. We handle the HOA paperwork.
  • Can my arbor support climbing roses or wisteria?
Yes — but only if it's built for it. Mature wisteria can put 100+ pounds of pull on a structure. We over-size posts and integrate cross-bracing on arbors meant to support climbers so the structure doesn't sag or lean over time.
  • How much does a custom arbor cost?
A standard 6x4 cedar arch arbor runs roughly $1,200-$2,500. A steel garden arbor runs $1,800-$3,800. A full arbor-and-gate assembly runs $3,000-$6,500. Walkway arbor tunnels and ornate wrought iron are priced individually.
  • Can you match an arbor to my existing pergola or fence?
Yes. We routinely match arbors to existing pergolas, fences, decks, and house trim — same stain, same proportions, same hardware finish. Bring photos to the consultation.
